One loose shopping cart rolls away downhill through the market street, threading fruit stalls, ladders, and a stroller without touching a thing. At the bottom it glides across the lot and nests itself perfectly into the cart corral.

The Picnic Moat

GRANDMA SUN digs a ring of water channels around the picnic blanket, engineering total defense against the ant line. The ants bridge it with one floating leaf, single file, and she nudges the jam sandwich an inch toward them in surrender.

The Sandcastle Tenant

Racing the tide, young ARLO fortifies his sandcastle with double walls, a moat, and a driftwood gate. The wave arrives, the castle stands — and a crab walks in through the gate and settles into the keep.
