Terms of Service
Effective: 2026-04-30
1. Description of service
TalkUp provides multilingual phrase lookup, display, and composition for travel scenarios. We do our best, but we don’t guarantee that the content is accurate — especially AI-generated phrases. In sensitive contexts (medical, legal, emergency), please seek professional translation.
2. Accounts
- You need an email address or a Google account to use the service.
- One person per account. Do not forward your sign-in link to others.
- You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of the queries, favorites, and custom phrases you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to operate / display / improve the service. We may aggregate de-identified contributions as public ranking signals.
4. Prohibited use
- Using the service to construct or distribute hateful, violent, harassing, or sexual content
- Reverse-engineering, abusing rate limits, or scraping the entire corpus
- Impersonating others or forging origins
- Violating the laws of a destination country / region
Violations will result in immediate account termination.
5. Intellectual property
The TalkUp name, logo, and product design belong to the service. The curation and ranking of the phrase database belong to the service. Raw linguistic facts (“a latte is espresso + steamed milk”) are not subject to copyright.
6. Third parties
AI phrases are generated by Anthropic Claude. Maps come from Google Maps, governed by its terms. The full list of processors is in the Privacy Policy, section 4.
7. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is”, without any express or implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or completeness. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from your use of the service.
8. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time at “Me → Account → Delete account”. We may also terminate your access if you violate these terms.
9. Governing law / disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes are first attempted to be resolved by email within 30 days; if not, they are submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction in Beijing.
10. Changes
Material changes are announced at the top of the sign-in page and this page at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use is acceptance of the new terms.
